The language is so rich! I've taken note of that throughout but this chapter blew me away a little. He used the word "incarnadine!"
Also, the section in which Stingo contemplates the evils of the Holocaust and the American south is as complex and unguarded an investigation of southern racism and defensiveness about one's southern origins as I've read in a long time. These are themes that have always been meaningful to me, so I'm really enjoying that aspect of the novel.
And Landau's just awful. I've got no small amount of dread about what he's goint to be up to.
